Started in 1978, The Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program is a part of the Fulbright exchange programs.
The Humphrey Fellowship is intended to offer an opportunity to the accomplished professionals, who are in the middle of their carriers, to pursue a year of non-degree graduate study and related practical professional experience in The United States. Professionals from specific countries in Africa, Asia, the Caribbean, the Middle East and Eurasia are eligible to apply for this fellowship program.
Online applications are invited by The U.S. Embassy Public Affairs Section, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia for The Humphrey Fellowship Program for the 2012-2013 academic year.
Professional Fields
Applicants must be from the professional fields Agricultural Development/Agricultural Economics, Communications/Journalism, Substance Abuse Education, Planning and Policy, Economic Development, Education Administration, Planning and Policy, Finance and Banking, Higher Education Administration, HIV/AIDS Policy and Prevention, Human Resource Management, Law and Human Rights, Natural Resources Management, /Environmental Policy/ Climate Change, Public Health Policy and Management, Public Policy Analysis And Public, Administration, Substance Abuse Education, Treatment and Prevention, Teaching Of English As A Foreign Language (Teacher Training or Curriculum Development), Technology Policy and Management, Trafficking Of Persons, Policy and Prevention, and Urban and Regional Planning.
Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants must be in the age ranges of 32 – 45 inclusive;
Applicants must have at least 8 years of working experience in governmental, private or business establishments;
Applicants must present a letter of support from their organization showing consent to grant of leave of absence during course of study;
Applicants must possess managerial or supervisory positions in their organizations;
Applicants must possess an undergraduate degree;
Cumulative CGPA in undergraduate studies should be 2.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale;
Applicants must be willing to sit for TOEFL (English language proficiency exam).
