Deadline: 18 February 2014
The Association of Universities and Colleges of Canada (AUCC) and the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) are jointly inviting applications for the Canada-Africa Research Exchange Grants (CAREG) Program. The short-term exchanges between Canadian and African universities and research institutes is a joint research activity that also supports activities aimed at improving student training at the graduate level.
IDRC program areas are – Agriculture and the Environment; Global Health Policy; Science and Innovation; and Social and Economic Policy. It supports research of practical use in addressing challenges Global South societies face in their quest for healthy, fair and viable development.
The expected results of the project are – strengthened interaction and collaboration between Canadian and African researchers; strengthened research and training collaboration on development priorities of mutual interest to partner institutions and to IDRC; increased mutual familiarity with African and Canadian research and training systems as well as funding mechanisms; and increased corporate knowledge for IDRC and AUCC regarding this kind of support, particularly on its impact and lessons learned, to create and enhance a research dialogue.
