The Danish Ministry Foreign Affairs/Danida invites grant applications for development research activities. The major objective of the funding opportunity is to generate new knowledge capable of alleviating development problems and strengthening research capacity in Danish priority countries.
Applications can be submitted for North and South driven development research applications.
Themes for South and North Driven Researches:
Ghana:
- Natural Resource Management/Climate-Smart Agriculture/Environmentally Sustainable Solutions
- Economic Development and Poverty Reduction/Role of the Informal Sector
- Health: Right to Health/Health Care/Determinants of Health
Tanzania:
- Good Governance
- Economic Development and Poverty Reduction/Green Growth/Natural Resource Management
- Health: Right to Health/Health Care/Determinants of Health
Nepal:
- Economic Development and Poverty Reduction/Green Growth
- Fragility, Stability and Rights
- Climate Change/Natural Resource Management/Livelihoods
Denmark:
- Sustainable peace and state building – causes of conflict and new approaches for development effectiveness
- New development actors and changing partnerships
- ICT for development
Eligibility Criteria:
- Institution like a governmental institution, private-sector enterprise or private organization can submit application for the grant.
- Only institutions in Denmark can apply for North driven research projects; and only the institutions in Ghana, Tanzania, or Nepal can apply for South driven research projects.
- The lead applicant must be attached to the applicant institution, which will be responsible for the project, if approved.
- The main applicant researcher must at the time of submitting the application hold a PhD or equivalent qualifications, documented clearly in the CV.
- The main applicant and the research team should document relevant scientific merits/qualifications and research background within the research topic applied for.
- Research applications must be prepared with the active involvement of partners in priority countries or Denmark.
