Landesa, Center for Women’s Land Rights, invites individuals from India, China, Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda to participate in a six-week Women’s Land Rights Visiting Professional Program to be conducted at the Landesa’s headquarters in Seattle, USA. The program aims to strengthen women’s capacity of being committed to motivate global women network at local, national and international levels. Upon the training completion, participants receive project development support from Landesa staff as well as access to an online network platform through which staff and participants can continue discussing and sharing resources on women’s land rights.
Landesa works for poorest people of developing countries to give their land rights. Landesa’s mission is to work with country’s governments to layout policies and programs which will help to promote economic and social growth.
Motives of this Professional Program:
- To broaden the understanding of the problems to strengthen women’s land rights by knowing the actual problem and how to work on development issue in relation with other issues which includes political and geographic regions.
- To help to learn from solutions to various related issues by actively participating in a network of co-workers which can act as resource. It also aims to build strong leadership quality and improve communication skills within women.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Professionals from China, India, Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda can only apply.
- Minimum 5 years working experience in development which includes at least two years are served on women’s rights issue or land tenure issue.
- English fluency in both writing and speaking.
- Must be able to participate physically in the 6 weeks professional program in Seattle between September-October.
