Office of Inspector General of Forests, Ministry of Environment, seeks proposals from various Pakistani organizations for the following studies to be accomplished with partial financial support of the National Forest Programme Facility:
i) Preparation of REDD Manual for Pakistan;
ii) Drivers of Deforestation in Pakistan;
iii) Forest Land Tenure Issues in Selected Areas of High Deforestation;
iv) Operationalization of Pakistan Forest Forum;
v) National Forest Management Information System (FMIS)
All interested non-profit making NGOs, CBOs and Specialized Governmental and Non-Governmental Agencies are requested to submit their proposals (technical + Financial) on the prescribed format for one or two of the activities mentioned above for development and implementation under the Pakistan National Forest Programme. The activities should be aimed at increasing involvement of civil society and other economic sectors in Pakistan on important forestry issues. TORs, eligibility, selection criteria etc. can be obtained from the office of undersigned or sending an email request. All the studies are to be completed within 6 months. The cost of the proposal should range from 25,000 to 45,000 (in case of FMIS up to 50,000 US$). The Facility will provide funds upto 80 percent of the total cost of the activity while the remaining 20 percent will have to be covered through other sources.
Eligibility
1. The beneficiary must be located in Pakistan;
2. The beneficiary must be a (potential) stakeholder in the nfp process;
3. The beneficiary must be a non-profit making organization;
4. The grant must support priorities of the national forest programme process;
5. The beneficiary must be ready to provide a contribution, from own or other resources, equivalent to at least 20% of the eligible cost of the activity supported by the Facility.
The successful proposal proponents will have to sign an agreement with NFP Facility. A Committee constituted by the Chairman of the National Steering Committee will undertake Monitoring & Evaluation of the activities. The National Steering Committee has the right to reject any or all the proposals without assigning any reason.
