Deadline: 21 August 2015
The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) is inviting grant applications from NGOs in Pakistan to strengthen Citizens’ Voices and Public Accountability in the country under the theme: Enhancing the Capacity of Elected Representatives and Strengthening Citizens’ Engagement for Transparent, Responsive, Efficient and Accountable Local Governments.
The program has three main objective areas: 1) Strengthened Voice (Policy Advocacy and Government Oversight); 2) Enhanced Capacity (Organizational Development and Targeted Trainings); and, 3) Improved Accountability (Public Private Connections, or linkages, between and among state and non-state entities or institutions). The outcomes expected in each area are behavioral and attitudinal changes and, over time, the project will help to institutionalize changes in public decision-making mechanisms, program planning and implementation, and oversight.
Applications are invited from organizations working in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Balochistan, Sindh as well as Islamabad Capital Territory. The applicant shall specify ONE district in which it would implement the project. If an applicant is interested in more than one district, a separate application for each district is required although TDEA will finally decide the district where the successful applicant should work. This cycle does not cover Gilgit-Baltistan, PATA, FATA and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
