Palestinian and Israeli Human Rights and Good Governance NGOs operating in the Zero Point in support of assignments for the availability for the funding announced by The Human Rights and Good Governance (HR/GG) Secretariat managed by the NGO Development Center (NDC). The funding has been made available by a group of donors as a continuation of their support to the sector by harmonizing and channeling financial and technical assistance through the Secretariat.
This opportunity is intended to make available small Grants up to $USD80’000 to respond to:
– Well-justified proposals of organizations that respond to urgent/emergency activities, during a maximum of 12 months which, if funded, will contribute to the promotion and protection of the Human Rights/Good Governance in the oPt.
– To support innovative proposals submitted by HR/GG NGOs or group of NGOs.
NGOs qualify for SGF funding provided that they meet the following eligibility criteria:
1. Palestinian or Israeli HR/GG NGOs or Networks that have official registration.
2. NGOs which submit projects that are clearly geared towards work on the promotion, protection, education, monitoring and advocacy of the principles of International Human Rights Law, and International Humanitarian Law within the occupied Palestinian territory.
3. HR/GG NGOs that conduct policy, educational, and advocacy activities to influence policies and legislation, and ensure the rule of law in the occupied Palestinian territory.
4. NGOs that have the capacity and the staffing to implement the planned activities.
5. NGOs abiding to non-violence and non-discrimination methodologies in their work policies.
6. NGOs demonstrating the following:
– Good governance and transparency.
– NGOs that have transparent financial system;
– Clear strategic direction and orientation towards tangible results and impact
7. Preference will be given to:
– NGOs operating in remote areas and targeting disadvantaged communities.
– A group of NGOs that submit a joint project with clear division of roles and responsibilities (including budgets)
Note: Current recipients of the HR/GG Secretariat Core Funding are not eligible to apply for the SGF under this cycle.
