In order to facilitate the international mobility of South African students and researchers, the French government offers a number of bursaries to South African MSc and PhD candidates, as well as post-doc research grants and internships.
The French Embassy bursary programme is currently proposing grants to facilitate international academic and scientific mobility for South African researchers towards French institutions of higher education.
The programme offers the opportunity for doctoral students to integrate establishments in France for specified periods of time in order to participate in a collaborative research project as part of their doctoral thesis programme.

– Bursary programmes made available to post-graduate South African students enrolled in South African universities.
– Training conducted by French researchers seconded to South African universities.
– Bursaries for MSc studies in France ; and
– Bursaries for short-term research and internships in French laboratories.
