EOI invites applications for Local Grant Scheme Scholarships for the Turkish Cypriot community Programme with the objectives of bringing the Turkish Cypriot community closer to the European Union, the European Commission will award scholarship grants to Turkish Cypriot students and teachers in order to offer them-
- Additional educational opportunities by raising their knowledge and/or increasing their skills in a specific field
- The experience of studying and living in another EU Member State .
The scholarships will be awarded for studying in another EU Member State at a university or equivalent institution of higher education formally accredited by the authorities of the host country.
The scholarships will be awarded exclusively for the academic year 2012/13 which is considered to run from September 2012 to September 2013 and cannot be postponed (academic calendars may vary in different countries, thus slightly different calendars may be accepted subject to prior examination of the case). The scholarships will cover the duration of the programme of study up to a maximum of one academic year. The programme chosen must be full-time.

Eligibility criteria-
- Must belong to the Turkish Cypriot community
- Must be registered for the academic year 2011/12 in a university or equivalent higher education institution located in the northern part of Cyprus
- Must have completed at least one of a maximum of three year(s) of university studies by July 2012 (students enrolled in their final year during 2011/12 are not eligible).
- Must have sufficient knowledge of the language of the programme chosen at the host university or equivalent institution of higher education
- Must not have benefited from a scholarship grant under the programmes Participation in the Community Scholarship programme 2007/08 and 2008/09, Participation in the EU Scholarship programme 2009/10, Scholarships for the Turkish Cypriot community Programme 2010/11 and Scholarships for the Turkish Cypriot community Programme 2011/12.
