International Charitable Foundation “International HIV/AIDS Alliance in Ukraine” has announced an open call seeking proposals (HIV prevention) from officially registered Ukrainian organizations, which have a status of non-profit organizations and a relevant expertise in the area of HIV/AIDS. The applicant organizations must also be aware of contemporary methods and approaches to HIV/AIDS prevention.
The contest is held in the framework of the 6th round of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria “Support for HIV / AIDS Prevention, Treatment and Care for Most Vulnerable Populations in Ukraine” and the program of the 10th round of the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria “Building a sustainable system of comprehensive HIV prevention, treatment, care and support at-risk groups and people living with HIV in Ukraine.”
Purpose of competition
The competition aims to support HIV-infection/AIDS prevention projects of the population at highest risk of HIV infection (drug users, those involved in sex, men having sex with men, prisoners and street children) and people living with HIV / AIDS, provision and improvement of the quality and availability of prevention services for these populations. All projects should aim at achieving the main expected result – namely, all are vulnerable to HIV infection group must have unimpeded access to services and information on HIV / AIDS care and support.
The call for proposals stipulates activities in the following areas:
1. Area No. 1 “HIV Prevention among Injecting Drug Users (IDUs)”
2. Area No. 2 “HIV Prevention among Commercial Sex Workers (CSWs)”
3. Area No. 3 “HIV Prevention among Men Who Have Sex with Men (MSM)”
4. Area No. 4 “HIV Prevention among Street Children”
5. Area No. 5 “HIV Prevention in Penal Institutions”
6. Area No. 6 “Interregional Information and Resource Center on HIV/AIDS (IIRC)”
7. Area No. 7 “Developing Periodical IEC Materials for Representatives of Populations Vulnerable to HIV at the National Level”
8. Area No. 8 “Advocacy of the Interests of Populations Vulnerable to HIV at the National and/or Local Level”
9. Area No. 9 “Mobilization and Building Capacity of Communities Vulnerable to HIV at the National Level”
10. Area No. 10 “Arranging Operation of a Mobile Clinic (MC) to Provide Diagnostic, Medical and Consultative Services to Most Vulnerable Populations”
