Deadline: 29 September 2015
The International Initiative for Impact Evaluation 3ie has issued individual requests for proposals for Zambia and Uganda under the Thematic Window for HIV Self-Testing. Although HIV self-tests may be a useful tool for encouraging individuals to know their status, little is known about potential users, methods of delivery and linkage to care. Critically, more knowledge about potential social harms is vital for policymakers and health-care providers seeking to make self-tests available as a method to address the HIV and AIDS epidemic.
3ie expects to fund two grants of not more than US$450,000. Each grant will fund one project, and each project will combine both the implementation of the pilot intervention and the conduct of the impact evaluation.
3ie is an international grant-making NGO promoting evidence-informed development policies and programmes. 3ie is the global leader in funding and producing high-quality evidence of what works, how, why and at what cost in international development. Since its founding in 2008, 3ie has awarded over 200 grants (146 impact evaluations, 33 systematic reviews and 38 other studies) in over 50 countries, with a total value of US$84,225,205.
Eligibility Criteria – The call is open to organisations implementing HIV and AIDS programmes in Zambia and Uganda. For-profit organisations are eligible to apply, but are restricted to the same indirect cost limits as non-profit organisations and may not charge a fee.
Applicants need to submit their applications via email before the deadline.
