European Union is accepting applications for its program ‘Aid to Uprooted People Program in Thailand’. The major objective of the program is to assist the refugees living in the nine camps across the Thai-Burma border and their hosting communities while looking for sustainable solutions and alternatives to the current protracted encampment situation.
The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 30 months nor exceed 48 months. Request for grant can be made between € 1,000,000.00 and €2,000,000.00 which can be maximum 80% of the total eligible cost of the action.

Eligibility Criteria –
- Applicant must be legal person in non-profit making organization.
- Specific types of organizations are – non-governmental organizations, public sector operators, local authorities, international (inter-governmental) organizations as defined by Article 43 of the Implementing Rules to the EC Financial Regulation.
- Applicant organization must be established in Thailand or be established in12
- one of the Member States of the European Union or be established in any other eligible countries as stipulated in the Regulation (EC) No. 1905/2006 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 18 December 2006 establishing a financing instrument for Development Cooperation (DCI Regulation)12/1. This obligation does not apply to international organizations.
- Applicant organization must be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Proposed action must comply to one of the above mentioned themes.
- Actions must take place primarily in Thailand and inside and around the refugee camps, the communities of the displaced persons adjacent to the refugee camps and the Thai neighboring communities. Cross border activities, in duly justified cases, can only represent a marginal part of the action.
