The International Reading Association is currently accepting applications for the Esther Zolt Academic Research Grant. Through the program, which was established in memory of Esther Zolt, a life-long elementary classroom teacher, a single grant of $2,500 is awarded annually to a research study on the effective classroom implementation of the In2Books curriculum that inspires others to improve teaching and learning in innovative ways.
IRA is a nonprofit, global network of individuals and institutions committed to worldwide literacy, supports literacy professionals through a wide range of resources, advocacy efforts, voluntarism, and professional development activities. The association promotes high levels of literacy for all by improving the quality of reading instruction; disseminating research and information about reading; and encouraging the lifetime reading habit.
Grants are limited to a maximum of US$2,500 and cover reasonable expenses directly related to the conduct of the research.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible, applicants must be a current IRA member in good standing.
