Become Delegate/Facilitator in Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit (9-13 February) 2015

The Tunza Eco Generation, an environmental networking platform for children and youth by Samsung Engineering and UNEP (United Nations Environment Program) is accepting applications from individuals between 13-24 years of age (as of deadline) to become delegates and facilitator in the Global Youth Eco-Leadership Summit (GYELS) to be held in Seoul, South Korea from 9-13 February 2015. The GYELS is Eco-generation’s comprehensive environmental education package full of academic opportunity, global experience and excursions to grow the future leaders.
Topic: Solutions to water issues for future generations
Age Group
- 13-15 – Delegates
- 16-24 – Facilitator – The facilitator will plan, organize and execute the GYELS 2015 MUN Program in close cooperation with eco-generation team. S/he will coach and mentor the delegates during the whole program.
Highlights
- Part I : Global Youth for the Environment Forum (GYEF) – Lectures about the environmental issues from distinguished instructors including UN officials, prominent scholars and even eco-conscious celebrities. the delegates will gain deep understanding about the topic of this year ‘Solutions to water issues for future generations’ and enhance their learning by participating in session programs. The delegates who show the most brilliant activity during the GYELS 2015 will be awarded by prestigious institutions in Korea.
- Part 2 : GYELS Model UN – The delegates of the GYELS 2015 will be the ambassadors and participate in the GYELS Model United Nation. They will debate the topic ‘Solutions to water issues for future generations’ as the representatives of their countries.
- Part 3 : Excursions – Global delegates will get a chance to treasure the beautiful memories of Korea and enjoy the company of other delegates through the cultural excursions.
Selected delegates will be provided air and local transportation, accommodation, meals. Global delegates can bring a chaperon with them who will get all the benefits except for flight tickets. For delegates who fly alone, UM service is available.
Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants for delegates should be between the age 13 and 15 as of application deadline.
- Applicants for facilitators should be between the age 16-24 as of application deadline.
- Applicants are required to have an intermediate level of English fluency.
Application materials for Delegates – Personality & motivation (within 100 words), report on Water issues in my country/region, picture, curriculum vitae (related experiences / Possible contributions for the 2015 GYELS), and activity point.
Application materials for Facilitators – Personality and motivation (within 300 words), MUN Plan (plans on coaching methods, research, country assignment and flow of debate), picture, curriculum vitae (related experiences /possible contributions for the 2015 GYELS, English proficiency, software skills and others), and activity point.
