Deadline: 14 February 2014
The Technical Center for Agricultural and Rural Cooperation (CTA) is inviting grant proposals for original research into the factors affecting the development of inclusive value chains. The major aim of the grant program is to contribute to enhanced value chains and improved smallholder incomes in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) regions and countries with a broader aim of achieving improved efficiency, inclusiveness and profitability of agricultural value chains in ACP countries.
The call emphasizes on specific chains that connect farmers to consumers in clearly identified sequence, involving collaboration between actors at all stages of the chain – domestic, regional or international markets.
The grant amount for each research can be between €25,000 and a maximum of €50,000.
Eligibility Criteria –
- Organizations in EU and ACP countries which have a strong record of value chain research, preferably on inclusive value chains in ACP countries are eligible to apply.
- The research proposal should also specify the variables that will be considered as relevant during the research as factors that could impact on the potential for small farmers to work with modern value chains or on the success of such inclusive chains.
- The research proposal must have innovative, well-articulated ideas (that have the potential to benefit a large number of people in ACP countries) in the area of value chain development.
