European Union is accepting grant applications of action projects on ‘Indo European Cooperation on Clean Technologies and Energy Efficiency for Eco-cities’. The major objective of the action project is to contribute to India’s sustainable and inclusive development objectives by increasing the use of green energy sources, energy efficiency and clean technologies, based on the local experience of both India and the EU.
The proposed actions can be designed to support government policies and issues, at central and local level with an aim to unlock the potential of clean development approaches and green energy sources, technologies and solutions and its effective take-up by public and private sectors in order to facilitate the sustainable development of cities in India.
Applications between the grant request €8,500,000 & €9,000,000 as 50-80% eligible cost of the action for a period of 36 to 48 months is accepted under the call.
Eligibility Criteria –
- The applicants must be a legal person in non-governmental organizations, private sector organizations, public sector operators, local authorities, international (inter-governmental) organizations established in a member state of European Union or India.
- Applicants must be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity (ies), not acting as an intermediary.
- Applicants must be able to demonstrate to have regularly carried out project activities regarding feasibility, promotion, implementation and/or demonstration of initiative in relation to sustainable urban development in the past three years at the time of submission of an application, preferably in Europe and India.
- The proposed action must take place in five cities in India that should be located in various states across India and each representing a specific typology, i.e. religious-tourist city, administrative capital, hill city, coastal city and industrial.
