The European Union under its Instrument for contributing to Stability and Peace (IcSP) is seeking proposals from civil society organizations for Conflict Prevention, Peace-Building and Crisis Preparedness in Afghanistan.
The program aims at:
- enhancing the overall capacity of relevant civil society actors at the local level.
- improving local civil society actors networking and advocacy skills.
- fostering and facilitating dialogue between civil society actors and local and international institutions.
The call for proposal intends to promote peace building and support women’s active and meaningful participation in local and national peace processes as well as their representation in formal and informal decision-making including at the regional level.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposal must fall between EUR 460.000 and EUR 760.000.
Objectives
- Support the implementation of Afghanistan’s National Action Plan on Women, Peace and Security,
- Encourage a culture of peace at the local level,
- Support the establishment of a protection mechanism.
Location
Actions must take place in Afghanistan.
Duration
The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 24 months nor exceed 36 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be established in Afghanistan for at least two years or a Member State of the European Union.
- be Civil Society actors constituted in accordance with the legislation in force in the applicant’s country of registration and be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity (ies), not acting as an intermediary
- The applicant must act with its co-applicant which must satisfy all the eligibility criteria as that of the applicant’s.
- The applicant and its co-applicant(s) may act with affiliated entity (ies) which include:
- Entities directly or indirectly controlled by the beneficiary (daughter companies or first-tier subsidiaries). They may also be entities controlled by an entity controlled by the beneficiary(granddaughter companies or second-tier subsidiaries) and the same applies to further tiers of control;
- Entities directly or indirectly controlling the beneficiary (parent companies). Likewise, they may be entities controlling an entity controlling the beneficiary;
- Entities under the same direct or indirect control as the beneficiary (sister companies).
How to Apply
- The application process consist of two phases
- Phase 1: concept notes
- Phase 2: full proposal
- Applicants applying for grants above EUR 60000, must first register in PADOR before submitting the concept notes.
- Only concept notes will be evaluated first and the selected applicants will be invited to submit the full proposals.
