The European Commission through its program- Strengthening Patients’ Rights in Maternal, Neonatal and Infant Health in Jamaica is accepting proposal in order to improve the health seeking behavior of mothers and health education and also to improve the role and effectiveness of civil society.
Objectives
- To strengthen patients’ rights in Maternal, Neonatal and Infant health amongst targeted population; and,
- To strengthen civil society organizations (CSOs) involved in patients’ rights advocacy and health policy planning and monitoring, in relation to maternal, neonatal and infant health.
Size of Grants
Any grant requested under this call for proposal must fall between EUR 235,000.00 and EUR 700,000.00.
Location
All actions must take place in Jamaica.
Duration
The initial planned duration of an action may not be lower than 18 months nor exceed 36 months.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to be eligible for a grant, the lead applicant must:
- be a legal person and
- be non-profit-making and
- be a specific type of organisation such as: a non-state actor and/or an international (inter-governmental) organisation as defined by Article 43 of the Rules of application of the EU Financial Regulation and
- be established in a Member State of the European Union or ACP Countries.
- be directly responsible for the preparation and management of the action with the co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies), not acting as an intermediary and
- be able to demonstrate sufficient technical and managerial expertise, within the last year, of at least 1 project of a similar size and in a related field to the action being requested in the grant.
- Applicant must act with its co-applicant which must satisfy the eligibility criteria as that of the applicants’.
- Applicants and co-applicants must act with affiliated entities that include:
- Entities directly or indirectly controlled by an applicant (daughter companies or first-tier subsidiaries). They may also be entities controlled by an entity controlled by an applicant (granddaughter companies or second-tier subsidiaries) and the same applies to further tiers of control;
- Entities directly or indirectly controlling the applicant (parent companies). Likewise, they may be entities controlling an entity controlling the applicant;
- Entities under the same direct or indirect control as the applicant (sister companies).
How to Apply
- Applicants must submit all documents together (Concept Note and Full Application Form). In the first instance, only the Concept Notes will be evaluated. Thereafter, for the applicants who have been pre-selected, the full proposal will be evaluated.
- Applications must be submitted online via PROSPECT
- Prior registration in PADOR is obligatory for all applicants, co-applicant(s) and affiliated entity(ies).
