The Netherlands based Alert Fund for Youth is an independent fund which supports progressive projects for young people.
By means of (small) subsidies to progressive projects, aimed at young people by young people, Alert tries to develop a fundamental change in society which aims at an equitable distribution of power, knowledge, capital and a an environmentally-friendly way of producing.
In the review process of the proposals we receive, Alert prioritizes certain issues that are important.
These include the following themes:
- Social, Economic and Political Participation
- Environment and Sustainability
- Emancipation, Gender, and Sexual Rights
- Peace and Dialogue
- Human Rights and Global Justice
The “Alert Award for Most Valued Project” is awarded every three month. Boardmembers of Alert nominate all candidates, after which months of internal debates start ending in a democratic vote for the winner. The winner is celebrated, will receive a financial price, and is mentioned in our press releases with the recognition of beings Worlds MVP (for four months) and why.
