Applications are invited for participation in a YouTube and Youku-run video contest launched by UNESCO. The contest is open to young people aged 18 to 24. It is launched as a part of UNESCO’s special program, celebrating the tenth anniversary of the adoption of the Universal Declaration on Cultural Diversity. The participants will have to create a 90 seconds video, based on Cultural Diversity.
The videos should clearly highlight the participant’s perspective on cultural diversity, and his views relating to its future. All genres and means of recording are acceptable. As verbal communication is not essential to understand the basic theme of each video, it will not use any subtitles or dubbing. The videos will be assessed on their visual impact.
The first five videos will be selected by public voting, while the final winner will be selected by an international jury of experts.
The winner of the video contest will win a video camera, worth approx 2,500 USD.
The contest is open from September, 28, 2011 to November 2, 2011.
