The IMPACT EVALUATION NETWORK (IEN) at the Latin American and the Caribbean Economic Association (LACEA) invites submission of papers that use impact evaluation techniques applied to program or policy, with priority given to evaluations in countries in the region. Methodological papers advancing the state of knowledge of program evaluation techniques are also welcome. The submitted papers will be reviewed by a scientific committee.
Interested researchers and advanced graduate students are welcome to attend and participate in the meeting and training activities even if they are not presenting papers. The number of participants, however, will be limited, so early registration is encouraged.
The Network is an initiative that aims to advance the state of knowledge and expertise regarding impact evaluation of different policies in the Latin America and the Caribbean region. The Network aims to promote impact evaluation methodologies, increase capacity building, and bridge research and policy in the region.
The fifth annual meeting will be hosted by the Center of Distributional, Labor and Social Studies at the Universidad Nacional de La Plata, taking place on August 22nd and 23rd, 2011, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
This year the program will include a one-day training course by Prof. Joshua Angrist (MIT) on recent methodological developments in program evaluation. The course will be divided in two mornings, followed each afternoon by the presentation of up to seven papers selected on the basis of academic merit.
Financial aid covering economy tickets and accommodation will be available for paper presenters only.
Last date for submission of papers is June 15, 2011
