The Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) invites applications for a two-part Training Programme on Risk Management in Banking from the candidates from select African Countries.
Candidates eligible to apply for this programme must be from Botswana, Ethiopia, Kenya, South Africa, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The programme admits 27 participants.
Objectives
To contribute to the long term capacity for reforms and change processes in the financial sector by enhancing the participants’ (change agents’) understanding for:
– the correlation between economic growth, openness and poverty reduction
– the financial sector as an indispensible part of the economic infrastructure
– the impact of financial markets on public finances.
Eligibility
This programme is open to candidates employed by established institutions. The nominated candidate should fit at least one of the following profiles
– Managers with responsibility for business development, credit granting, administration, trading and/or investing.
– Lawyers within banks, financial institutions, pension funds, microfinance, supervisory authorities etc.
– Managers with responsibility for the procurement of analytical tools for risk management within private and public sector financial institutions
-“High potentials” from financial institutions, universities or other institutions of importance to the financial sector
– Decision makers or other individuals with responsibilities, ambition and mandate to drive the development and change process within the financial sector.
Language Requirements
The programme will be organised and conducted in English and consequentlya proficiency in the English language is required. Candidates of a different mother tongue will have to have their proficiency assessed according to SIDA’s requirements.
