Applicants are invited to submit their applications for Google News Lab Fellowship that offers students interested in journalism and technology the opportunity to gain a placement working at relevant organisations across the UK to gain valuable experience and make lifelong contacts.

- The Fellows will also be invited to a one-day session at Google UK in London where they’ll have access to training on a range of digital tools including Google Trends, Google Maps, and more.
- Fellows will then spend the next 8 weeks embedded on projects at the host organisations.
- Fellows have opportunities to research and write stories, contribute to open source data programmes, and create timely data to accurately frame public debates about issues in the UK and the world.
Funding Information
Fellows receive a stipend of up to £6,400 GBP from their host organisation over 8 weeks during the summer (June-September) holidays to cover expenses and travel.
Eligibility Criteria
- In order to participate in the programme, you must be a higher education student enrolled in or accepted into an accredited UK higher education institution including colleges and universities.
- Applicant must be 18 years of age or older as of 1 January 2016 to be eligible for the 2016 Fellowship.
- international students can apply, as long as applicants are enrolled in a higher education institution based in the United Kingdom as of 1 January 2016 and eligible to work in the UK
