Women empowerment, gender equality, fight against violence against girls and women, protection of basic human rights of women are common issues in developing world. The developing nations are not able to step a broader step in development because there are numerous issues overlooked as a way of life. There are families that abort girl child just because she is a girl, there are families that do not allow their girls get higher education just because she needs to get married and work in the kitchen, there are societies that point the women who speak for their rights, there are cultures and social norms that confine women to the periphery of households. Gender roles need to be revised. Women’s human rights need be protected and only will the developing world move towards development.
There are hundreds of non-governmental organizations working to secure the women’s human rights and continuously providing trainings, advocacy and involving in changing the perspective of society. These organizations need funding support to continue their effort towards creating an equitable society where women are empowered, where women are equal contributor to their family, social, national and international agendas.
