Do you think the solutions that exist to these problems were if distributed to the needy people, we would be on the track to alleviating poverty soon? Do you find yourself in a position to solve these problems if supported with funding? If your answers are yes, read this opportunity! D-prize is seeking you to address the challenges!
The D-Prize invites anyone or group around the globe interested in starting a new social enterprise in the developing world and solve one of the below listed distribution problems to submit their effective projects on the mentioned solutions. Selected projects will be offered up to $20,000 to implement their project. The selected applicants will first spend three months raising fund for their project.
D-Prize is dedicated toward expanding access to poverty-alleviation solutions in the developing world. Its goals are – significantly increase access to life-enhancing technologies in the developing world – and prove an impact in a measurable way; encourage young entrepreneurs to focus their talent on the developing world, pilot new solutions to distribution problems, and launch new social ventures; and encourage a global dialogue on the importance of leveraging distribution solutions for development. We believe the path to development is through solving distribution.

Eligibility Criteria
- Applicants must be individuals who can start a new social enterprise in the developing world and solve one of the D-Prize distribution problems.
- Applicants are required to be committed, highly skilled, and ready to scale for the long term.
- Individuals and their immediate family on the judging panel can not participate in the contest.
- Ventures/Projects/Business models that will distribute an already proven poverty solution in the developing world are highly encouraged.
- Applicant organization should be less than 12 months old.
- Applicants should be piloting on a new distribution-focused initiative.
- Organizations/groups that have already raised more than $100,000 cannot apply for the prize.
Application Procedure
- Submit a resume and two-page concept note by the deadlines mentioned above. Early submissions are highly encouraged.
- Top 5% of entrepreneurs will be invited to submit a full 10-page proposal. Full plans should be submitted within 4-week of invitation date.
- Top entrepreneurs will be selected and interviewed.
- Winners will be selected and offered up to $20,000 each along with mentorship and other support as they launch.
- The winners will spend three months raising fund on the venture they plan to start. During this period, they will meet the minimum requirement of the proposed project.
