The Project Inspire accepts submissions of projects that show creativity and demonstrate the potential to make a sustainable impact on the empowerment of women. The projects must be based on an existing initiative not propagating any political views or religious doctrines. Also, they should be designed to be implemented with a budget of US$25,000.
How to make the message effective?
- Make three main points that you want to get across. Be concise and precise. You have only 5-minutes to deliver all your message – introducing yourself or your organization; presenting your project and giving details on the impact the project will make. You must also prove the project will grow sustainably.
- It is always good to convey the long-term sustainability of what you are trying to do- showing how success will be measured is a plus point.
- The video can be 3-5 minutes long. The rule is start strong, continue the momentum and end strongly!
- The video quality does not matter (it means it should not necessarily be professional) but good storytelling is must. Make sure special effects, graphics or other production techniques don’t draw attention away from what you’re saying. The video should grab attention in just 30 seconds. When you make the audience clear of what you are doing, how it is or will be effective; you can add some graphics or video clips supporting your claim. If you are already doing the work in the field, you must show the field work. It just not makes the video effective but also gives comfort and confidence to the judges that you can do what you say you can.
- The video must be submitted in English language. Subtitles to videos (either subtitle to everything or only for the keywords) is recommended as there are different accents which may not be clear for broader range of audience.
- Make your friends watch the video and criticize, suggest and give their opinion- not just once but twice, thrice, forth time and more if possible before submitting the video. This helps improve the quality of content and delivery. Spend as much time as possible in preparing an effective pitch because these five-minutes are going to determine if you will be among the top 10 finalists or not.
- Remember that you allow equal time to the business side and the social aspect of your pitch- the video.
The judges will evaluate your pitch upon the
- Creativity
- Efficacy
- Impact
- Sustainability
