The Public Affairs Section (PAS) of the U.S Consulate Kolkata is seeking proposals from non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and legally recognized non-profit institutions for a cooperative agreement. It is a year-long training program in East India that will focus on journalism ethics, standards, citizen journalism, and advocacy through reporting.
Funding type and amount
- Minimum (“Floor”) Award Amount: $75,000
- Maximum (“Ceiling”) Award Amount: $100,000
The first training program is scheduled to start in May 2015 and should be completed in six months or less from the date of the signed agreement.
Eligibility Criteria
- The U.S. Consulate Kolkata Public Affairs Section will accept applications from U.S. and Indian registered not-for-profit, non-governmental organizations, and other legally recognized non-profit institutions. Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) of the Government of India applies to all Indian organizations.
- Applicants must acquire all required registrations in the United States and India.
- All intellectual property considerations and rights must be fully met in the United States and India.

Applicants are requested to submit proposals to grants.gov. Applications must be submitted by an Authorized Organization Representative (AOR) of the applicant organization.
