UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women
- Civil society organizations and networks, non-governmental organizations, regional, cross-regional, international civil society organizations that are legally registered in the countries and/or territories of implementation; academic/research institutions specialized in gender equality and gender-based violence; government authorities at central/national, sub-national and/or local levels can apply for funding.
- The applicant organization’s proposal must outline programs with an exclusive focus on the elimination of violence against women.
- The application process consists of two rounds. The first round involves the submission of a Concept Note. Selected organizations will then be invited to submit a Full-Fledged Proposal.
Just like the UN Fund for Gender Equality, the UN Trust Fund to End Violence against Women publishes calls for proposals on its official website and announces the annual grant cycle in the beginning of the year. In 2015, the application for the Fund’s 19th grant cycle was opened on 12 January 2015, and the first round of the application process (the submission of a Concept Note) closed on 29 January 2015. However, it should be noted that the Funds usually announce calls for proposals in the beginning of the year, therefore applicants should check the official websites during this time.
Applicants must submit their applications via the online application system in English, French and Spanish only. For large civil society organizations and governments, budget requests should be within the range of $300,000 to a maximum of $1 million for the duration of two to three years. Small civil society organizations, especially grassroots women’s organizations and youth-led organizations, may request between $50,000 and $100,000 regardless of the size of their annual organizational budget for the two to three year period.
