The Global Fund for Women support and defend women’s human rights by making grants to support women’s groups in five regions. These regions include Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, Europe and the Commonwealth of Independent States, Asia and Oceania and the Americas. Since its incorporation in 1987, the Global Fund has granted over $93 million to more than 4,400 women’s groups in 172 countries.
The Global Fund for Women supports an extensive range of women’s groups working to build peace and curb gender-based violence, advance health and sexual and reproductive rights, ensure economic and environmental justice, expand civic and political participation, enhance access to education, and promote social change philanthropy.
