Nominations Now Open for World of Children Award 2016: Recognizing the Most Effective Changemakers for Children Worldwide

World of Children Award is currently inviting applications for its 2016 Grants Program, providing funds and recognition to support life-changing work for children by discovering and elevating only the most effective change makers for children worldwide.

The Award’s mission is to support life-changing work for children, seeking out only the most effective change makers for children worldwide.

Award Categories

  • Protection Award
    • The Protection Award recognizes individuals making extraordinary contributions to children so that they can live free from fear, abuse, and exploitation.
    • Minimum Grant $50,000.
  • Education Award
    • The Education Award recognizes individuals making extraordinary contributions to the education of children thus providing them the platform from which to become fully productive members of society.
    • Minimum Grant of $50,000.
  • Health Award
    • The Health Award recognizes individuals making extraordinary contributions to children through the fields of health, medicine, or the sciences.
    • Minimum Grant of $50,000.
  • Humanitarian Award
    • The Humanitarian Award recognizes individuals making extraordinary contributions to children through social services or humanitarian services.
    • Minimum Grant of $50,000.
  • Youth Award
    • The Youth Award recognizes a young person under the age of 21 who has made significant contributions in the lives of other children.
    • Minimum Grant of $25,000.

Benefits

Travel and accommodations will be arranged and paid for by World of Children Award.

2016 key Dates

  • January 2016 – Nominations open online
  • April 1, 2016 (at 11:59 pm EDT) – Nominations close
  • April – August 2015 – Review and investigative process
  • September 2016 – Honorees Announced
  • October 27, 2016 – Annual Awards Ceremony in New York City

Eligibility Criteria

All Nominees must meet these minimum requirements:

  • Nominees must have full knowledge that they are being nominated.
  • Nominees must be available to participate in the Annual Awards Ceremony held in New York City, USA, on October 27, 2016, if he/she is selected as an Honoree.
  • Nominees must be nominated for one Award only.
  • Nominees must have an existing nonprofit, not-for-profit, NGO, or charity organization in good standing.
  • Nominee must be the founder, co-founder, or visionary leader responsible for the organization’s success and growth.
  • Only one individual from an organization can be nominated.
  • World of Children Award excludes any work designed to specifically advance any one religion or political position.
  • The organization of individuals nominated for the Education, Health, Humanitarian, or Protection Awards must have been registered as a nonprofit, not-for-profit, NGO, or charity organization for a minimum of 10 years.
  • Individuals nominated for the Education, Health, Humanitarian, or Protection Awards must have been doing this work with their organization for a minimum of 10 years.

Eligibility for Youth Award Nominees

  • Youth Nominees can be nominated for the Youth Award only.
  • The organization of individuals nominated for the Youth Award must have been registered as a nonprofit, not-for-profit, NGO, or charity organization for a minimum of 3 years.
  • Individuals nominated for the Youth Award must have been doing this work with their organization for a minimum of 3 years.
