ActionAid International Kenya has invited applications from qualified and deserving applicants for job/vacancy of Governance and Accountability Advisor. The location of this job will be based in Kenya(Urban and Peri – urban). Please note that duration of this contract is 2 years. This placement is not eligable for people with permanent recidency in Kenya.
Job tasks include:
- Provide training to partner organisations on the human rights based approach and follow up on this training
- Provide technical assistance and guidance as to how to integrate and mainstream the human rights based approach in the governance and accountability work carried out by the partner organisations
- Support partners in developing adequate and accountable monitoring and reporting systems.
Required qualifications:
- Post graduate degree with specialization in governance, public policy or related field.
- Profound knowledge of governance in contexts similar to Kenya
- Minimum of 4 years of governance related work experience preferably from East/Southern Africa
- Demonstrated experience working with Human Rights Based Approaches to development – and in particular in relation to governance programs
- Capacity development experience, including experience in participatory methodologies and tools.
