Responsibilities:
• Project management;
• Manage and support Program Manager and Program Officer;
• Serve and Represent as a leader of the Global Advocacy Initiatives team;
• Follow-up Advocacy Coordination;
• Budget Management.
Required:
• Bachelors degree in political science, international affairs, international development or a related field;
• At least 7 years of experience with a background in both advocacy and development;
• Experience in managing projects in a complex, international organization;
• Experience in managing people;
• Experience with political and/or social change advocacy campaigns;
• Experience planning and managing Congressional delegation travel and/or other VIP travel overseas
• Experience getting things done without direct line management authority;
• Experience with and knowledge of how USG policy is made and implemented;
• Experience developing and managing partnerships and alliances;
• Advanced written and oral communication skills;
• Excellent planning and implementation skills;
• Budget management;
• Knowledge and understanding of the U.S. legislative process;
• Knowledge and understanding of policy issues related to CARE’s mission;
• Word processing, Outlook, Powerpoint, internet skills;
• Interest in and willingness to travel;
• Database management skills;
• Facilitation and training skills.
Desired:
• Master’s Degree in relevant field;
• Experience doing advance work for political campaigns;
• General familiarity with U.S. ethics laws and lobbying regulations related to nonprofit organizations;
• Experience with PeopleSoft;
• Fundraising: Working with and relationships with funders.
