Applications are invited by WWF-UK from qualified and experienced candidates for the job/vacancy of Corporate Stewardship Manager – Forest Policy. The location of this job/vacancy will be based in Woking (initially Godalming) UK. Please note that this is a full time, permanent position.
The Purpose
- Keeps abreast of policy development, producing internal policy positions; and develops advocacy strategies for changing government and corporate policy and practice on this theme
- Engage with other WWF Network specialists on this theme. Supports forest policy capacity needs of southern partners, as appropriate and as agreed with the WWF Network.
- Manages projects and initiatives as required; ensures contract compliance and monitors progress towards agreed targets
- Represents WWF-UK at meetings on this theme with technical specialists from business and government
- Develops products (e.g. reports, fund-raising materials, press releases) to contribute to the overall engagement strategy on this theme
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Advanced degree in forestry or related discipline and/or equivalent experience in the subject area
- Experience of influencing key stakeholders and changing opinion
- Experience of synthesising complex information, regulations and policies and translate into impactful advice and communications.
- Proven experience in the field and an understanding of developing country perspectives.
- Up-to-date knowledge of key specialism and the relevant laws or external developments that govern it
- Demonstrated ability in project management
- Experience of analysing and resolving complex problems involving multiple stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability and experience training and guidance
- Contract and budget management
Minimum Criteria
- Proven budget management ability
- Ability to influence corporate / government policy and regulations
- Design, deliver and monitor impact of work programmes
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
- Ability to raise funds through teamwork
