International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Global Compensations and Benefits Specialist in Texcoco, Mexico.
The Global Compensations and Benefits Specialist will be responsible across the organization for all Compensation and Benefits activities, the HR Information Systems, the HR Data management and their related policies and procedures.
CIMMYT’s mission is to sustainably increase the productivity of maize and wheat systems to ensure global food security and reduce poverty.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Global Compensations and Benefits Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Develop and propose reward strategies and policies for International staff and national staff in all locations.
- Keep updated on market trends and propose responses including what-if scenarios and models to explore new possibilities to ensure the competitive edge of CIMMYT in recruitment.
- Plan; manage/coordinate compensation surveys and ad hoc reviews. Analyze and interpret survey results including non-financial benefits.
- Propose fully coasted C&B options.
- Implement approved compensation and benefits schemes.
- Participate to the insurance bidding processes and the implementation of the insurance programs.
- Contribute to the International Staff (expatriate) compensation structure and relocation programs.
- Develop and maintain mechanisms for dealing with cost of living, location-based benefits, currency exchange protection, etc.
- Manage the performance appraisal system and related rewards and other related actions.
- Develop and propose Performance – based reward schemes.
- Conduct regular reviews / surveys to ensure that the C&B elements add to competitiveness in the market as well as value to staff members.
- Provide HR budgetary analysis to support recruitments.
- Review all salary offers and assist in setting of recruitment salaries.
- Manage and maintain the job grading system including all related documentation.
- Prepare communication documents and presentations on all C&B related topic.
- Provide support in:
- HR Information System:
- Support the automation of all HR processes.
- Review, update or create all policies and procedures related to the use and implementation of an ERP (Dynamics) and of its HR modules (recruitment, training, leave management, etc.
- Support the HR ticketing system OTRS.
- Support the implementation of Staff surveys.
- Propose new systems whenever relevant.
- HR Data Management:
- Assume the role of principal point of contact for the issuance of all HR data reports.
- Ensure the accuracy of all HR data and provide analysis and metrics as requested.
- Provide regular and special reports and analyses.
- Support Reviews and audits.
- Maintain HR database related to compensation and benefit systems.
- Define the levels of all HR related provisions in coordination with the Finance department.
- Support the process of Reconciliation of Accounts in coordination with the Payroll area.
- Assist with the design and implementation of meaningful Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the various HR sub-areas.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s degree in International HR Management, Accounting or related field of study (psychology, international trade, Finance, etc.)
- Required 6 + years of progressive experience in a global environment, preferably in HR development, compensations and benefits, HR Information Systems or global mobility.
- International experience in HR, working in different countries and having been exposed to various cultures.
- Creativity and willingness to develop new models and approaches.
- Experience working for NGO’s.
- Proficiency in English and Spanish, with excellent written / oral communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite and in management standard software (e.g., MS Project Professional).
