Amnesty International (AI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Programme Coordinator in London, United Kingdom.
The Programme Coordinator works to provide a co-ordination point between units in the Programme and its interaction with other Programmes/Clusters to ensure that resources are used and accounted for effectively.
The AI’s global campaign is to change the lives of those suffering human rights abuses.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Programme Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Coordinate and support project overviews, programme planning, reporting and reviews for the programme so that records are maintained and senior team members can report accurately on the performance of the programme.
- Assist in the planning and formulation of projects to ensure that standard IS tools and systems are been used appropriately.
- Undertake financial processing and analysis as required to support efficient financial management and administration of the programme.
- Monitor and report on the Programmer’s operational budget to the Programme Director and the Finance and Accounting Programme.
- Assist teams with the preparation of project budgets to ensure effective financial management within the Programme.
- Prepare contracts and standardize terms of reference for all consultancies for the Programme, track deadlines for consultant outputs, and liaise with consultants as required to ensure that external partners are clear on their terms of work.
- Establish and maintain accurate record keeping, retrieval systems and other administrative processes to support the efficient operation of the programme.
- Collaborate with other teams to develop common systems where appropriate, to ensure consistency with IS-wide systems and offer suggestions for improvements if required.
- Organize and coordinate internal and external meetings and associated logistics, (including for example agenda and document distribution, booking rooms, minute taking) to ensure that meetings run smoothly and agreed actions are completed.
- Manage the diary of the Programme Director, arrange meetings and schedule appointments for visitors. Cover for colleagues in other teams in the programme as necessary.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Experience of administering and coordinating a large and diverse department or programme and ability to make recommendations to the Programme Director on improving its programme administration.
- Ability to manage own projects.
- Experience of drafting correspondence and reports.
- Experience of preparing and monitoring budgets and an ability to identify budget problems and solve them.
- Highly organized and efficient; In depth knowledge of budget maintenance systems, and financial resources management and record keeping.
