International Medical Corps (IMC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Deputy Country Director in Iraqi Kurdistan.
The Deputy Country Director will be responsible for the programmatic activities of International Medical Corps’ Iraq country team.
IMC’s mission is to improve the quality of life through health interventions and related activities that build local capacity in underserved communities worldwide.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Deputy Country Director will perform the following functions-
- Ensure that the strategic directions, project benchmarks, accountability and internal control standards are established and exercised.
- Ensure that results oriented directions; targets; deliverables and standards of care are communicated and agreed with the senior management team, the respective project teams and in consultation with external partners and stakeholders.
- Ensure that project elements are conceptualized and the team members and consultants understand their roles and responsibilities and are properly trained to implement the project tasks in compliance with all the project and donor requirements and International Medical Corps.
- Ensure that technical deliverables and monitoring and evaluations plan are designed, agreed, and match the project requirements and ensure that all the project information and benchmarks are achieved.
- Ensure that the project team and consultants are properly trained, roles and responsibilities are properly assigned and the team is able to implement the project agreed deliverables.
- Provide day to day leadership in recruitment, training, programmatic and fiscal operations, performance evaluation of direct reports and guidance to supervisors and managers providing performances for project and staff.
- Compile program and donor reports and assist with development of future programs and donor proposals as needed.
- Contribute to overall management and strategic development of the Country Program as a member of the Senior Management Team (SMT).
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Minimum of a Master’s level degree in a health, protection or social service related field.
- Minimum of seven (7) years’ experience implementing and managing donor-funded projects in developing countries.
- At least five (5) years of experience in health, and protection programming preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in leadership roles, promoting strategic planning, and careful budget management.
- Demonstrated ability to work with multiple partners on collaborative projects.
- Demonstrated ability to create and maintain effective working relations with senior government personnel, NGO partners, host country governments, multinational corporations, donors, international and U.S. government organizations.
- Comprehensive knowledge and working experience with grant management for donors such as USAID, EU, DfID and other donors.
- Strong writing, presentation and reporting skills.
- Proficiency with MS Word and Excel (minimum requirement).
