International Organization for Migration (IOM) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of GFMD Web Portal Administrator in Geneva, Switzerland. The duration for the post is of 1 year.
The GFMD Web Portal Administrator will be accountable and responsible for the Global Forum for Migration and Development (GFMD) web portal and other web-based systems of the GFMD.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The GFMD Web Portal Administrator will perform the following functions-
- Develop and administer the GFMD web portal, undertaking feasibility studies, systems analysis, design, development and implementation and operation of new, moderately complex systems.
- Gather, organize, prepare and upload contents in several languages to the GFMD web portal and the Platform for Partnerships (PfP) / Policy and Practice Database (PPD); provide necessary updates to be user- friendly, searchable, content driven and interlinked with relevant UN and government websites.
- Research, analyze, evaluate and implement new technologies and makes recommendations for implementation.
- Provide regular reports on the use of the website, including number of visits, profile of users/viewers, links to other related web-sites, etc. Provide technical support in the conceptualization, implementation and maintenance of the GFMD-PfP and PPD.
- Develop and maintain dynamic online forms (on the website and for email distribution) for data collection and further internal-use processing.
- Maintain, upgrade or enhance the existing systems; troubleshoot and provide continuing user support, including resolving difficult problems, advising on the use of new techniques, monitoring transactions to measure performance and continued effectiveness of systems.
- Develop new applications including support for email, document management, online discussions/communication platforms and similar applications for exchange, info-sharing and file systems of the GFMD-SU.
- Facilitate communications between external IT departments and the GFMD-SU. Serve as coordinator in the development of service agreements, for either specific IT services or general technology support, including any charge back mechanisms.
- Develop operating and user manuals; respond to technical queries concerning the functions and features of the GFMD website.
- Guide and assist key target audiences, including, but not limited to the GFMD Chair’s Secretariat (Task Force), Support Unit staff, Friends of the Forum, etc. in the use of the GFMD website (e.g., contact management, event registration, project databases, online forum, etc.)
- Maintain the GFMD Focal Points directory and mailing lists. Prepare and disseminate official communications via email and social media, including mail-merging for mass mailing.
- Administer cloud-based document repository / file and ensures that periodic backups are stored offline.
- Perform such other duties as may be assigned.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related field from an accredited academic institution with six years of relevant Experience in website administration; at least two years in administering SharePoint site.
- Good knowledge of SharePoint and/or Drupal; experience in the design and development of complex, ideally Drupal-based websites for large organizations.
- Good knowledge of LAMP stacks, PHP, web development in general (including html5), JavaScript (jQuery) and SQL.
- Advanced graphic designing/document formatting skills in preparing documents in Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and other commonly-used document and graphic applications, including Adobe Photoshop.
- Demonstrated good writing skills in English, proven experience in writing for the web and social media.
- Understanding of the migration agenda within contemporary social, political and economic issues worldwide.
- Expert knowledge of social media tools including but not restricted to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Tumbler, Instagram, Flicker, YouTube, Vimeo and other emerging tools.
- Video editing skills (e.g., Sony Vegas, Adobe Premiere, etc.) a plus.
- Experience with maintaining a photo library including metadata standards, archival formats and best practices.
- Fluency in English is required. Working knowledge of French and Spanish is an advantage.
