The United Nation Development Programme (UNDP) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Inclusive and Democratic Governance (IDG) Portfolio Manager, based i Ankara, Turkey.
The Portfolio Manager will lead the work of the Inclusive and Democratic Governance (IDG) Portfolio with the overall objective to contribute to the advancement of governance processes and institutions that foster effective democratic governance and are adapted to and able to deliver on public expectations for inclusiveness and participation.
UNDP supports national democratic transitions by providing policy advice and technical support, improving institutional and individual capacity within countries, educating populations about and advocating for democratic reforms, promoting negotiation and dialogue, and sharing successful experiences from other countries and locations.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Portfolio Manager will perform the following functions-
- Implementation of programme strategies
- Management of the CO programme
- Advocacy and representation of the portfolio in international and national platforms through the creation of strategic partnerships
- Implementation of the resource mobilization strategy
- Provision of top quality policy advice services to the Government and facilitation of knowledge building and management
- Monitoring and evaluation of programme
- Communication of programme strategy
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business Administration, Public Administration, Economics, Political Sciences, Social Sciences or related field.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience at the national or international level in providing management advisory services, hands-on experience in design, monitoring and evaluation of development projects.
- Demonstrative substantive experience and expertise in the area of Inclusive and Democratic Governance.
- Experience in effective leadership and team coordination.
- Demonstrated experience and skills in advocacy, outreach and communications
- Experience in establishing strategic partnerships with international organizations, media, and academia, public and government institutions.
- Experience in designing and implementation of programme strategies to ensure compliance with relevant programme policies and procedures.
- Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, experience in handling of web based management systems.
- Fluency in English and Turkish.
