Asian Development Bank (ADB) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Principal Financial Sector Specialist in Manila, Philippines.
The ADB aims for an Asia and Pacific free from poverty.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Principal Financial Sector Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Oversee the development of strategies and lead development of client solutions in the financial sector, with a focus on PPPs solutions, financial intermediation, local currency finance solutions, and equity and debt markets. Financial intermediation may also entail MSME and agriculture finance.
- Identify, develop, and implement innovative and effective approaches to policy, client solutions.
- Review financial sector and PPP policy and related legal and regulatory frameworks, and assess progress towards achieving sustainable economic development and poverty reduction in Central West Asia DMCs.
- Provide advice and support to mainstream solutions in CWRD DMCs country operations, as well as regional cooperation in CAREC, and methods to enhance project/program quality, including participation in teams preparing loans and technical assistance.
- Lead, and support team members in identifying relevant client oriented solutions.
- Ensure timely disbursements and execution of projects and programs and promptly address implementation bottlenecks.
- Serve as CWPF focal person for private partnership solutions and financial sector development.
- Lead the development of solutions applying ADB products to be delivered by CWPF especially in the PPP and financial sector areas.
- Monitor and identify methods to improve quality at entry and implementation of ADB products as well as synergies with other sovereign and non-sovereign operations.
- Carry out processing and implementation of related CWPF operations.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Master’s Degree, or equivalent, in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or other related fields.
- University degree in Economics, Finance, Business Administration or other related fields combined with specialized experience in similar organization/s, may be considered in lieu of a Master’s degree.
- Suitability to undertake the above mentioned responsibilities.
- At least 12 years of relevant professional experience in the financial sector and PPPs.
- Proven experience to carry out PPP and financial sector operations in the private sector and within ADB.
- Ability to steer ideas and projects to demonstrate the impact of PPP and finance sector solutions for the DMC’s economic development, and inclusive growth.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
- International private and public sector experience working in PPPs and finance sector in several countries.
