Open Society Foundations (OSF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Program Administrative Specialist in Budapest, Hungary.
The Program Administrative Specialist will perform duties requiring skills specific to Open Society Foundations programs and processes that advance the work of the organization.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Program Administrative Specialist will perform the following functions-
- Performing operational work that helps achieve the Parkview and overall Roma Initiatives Office goals/plans; this includes managing issues independently and identifying new administrative/operational needs and developing/implementing solutions.
- Reviewing reports and other documents for compliance, accuracy and readability; this may include review of data to assure that it is accurate and complete in accordance with appropriate protocols.
- Staying abreast of relevant policies and compliance requirements and assisting staff with understanding, operational zing, and adhering to relevant policies and guidelines. May train staff on grants or other processes/workflows.
- Processing grants (including contracts, payments, amendments, etc.) as well as identifying and implementing grants-related best practices; coordinate grant processing schedules.
- Providing complex Parkview and overall Roma Initiatives Office grant making data review and visualization; applying knowledge of trends and suggesting changes or adjustments accordingly.
- Developing reporting tools and templates for Parkview and overall Roma Initiatives Office; maintaining records and files of all portfolio activity; devising new and effective ways to successfully manage grant-making portfolios.
- Assisting in complex events planning and organizing, along with the Roma Initiatives Office operations team to attain high working standards.
- Networking and communicating with grantees to build strong relationships, including grantees perception surveys.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study or equivalent experience/education; graduate degree desirable.
- Experience in working on Roma issues desirable.
- Experience working in national advocacy matters desirable.
- Experience in grant-making impact analysis and evaluation desirable.
- Knowledge on issues of interest to Open Society generally, and in particular as they relate to the designated area of work at the Roma Initiatives Office.
- Highly skilled in researching, processing large amounts of information, and analyzing its importance in informing Roma Initiatives Office programs and strategies.
- Ability to recognize and work effectively in compliance with internal policies and external constraints.
- Excellent technological skills, including social media.
- Demonstrated consistent respect for others’ opinions, listens well, and responds to colleagues with awareness and sensitivity to cultural communication differences.
- Strong commitment to inclusion and respect for all colleagues regardless of identity or seniority.
- Collaborative, collegial working style.
- Knowledge of the Romani language and other languages where the Roma Initiatives Office works is an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken communication in English.
