The Johns Hopkins University (Jhpiego) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Program Officer in Mwanza, Tanzania.
The Program Officer will work closely with the Technical Advisors and Technical Officers for In-Service Training and Pre-Service Education and Program assistant to provide day-to-day support of project field operations to ensure technical, financial, and administrative functions of the project.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Program Officer will perform the following functions-
- Provide day-to-day programmatic and administrative operation support of project activities, implementation and smooth functioning of all activities under the MBM-RTz program.
- Responsible for planning and implementing project activities in coordination with the MOH and health training institution and facility counterparts.
- Work collaboratively with government staff to track and document progress of project activities and utilize data results for project improvement.
- Ensure smooth implementation and consistent quality of services by regional teams by working closely with Technical Advisors and field implementation teams.
- Ensure coordination and compilation of all project reports.
- Draft correspondence to DFATD, NGOs and other agencies as requested.
- Maintain files and support the dissemination of project information among the project team.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public health or related field, or equivalent job experience.
- Experience in coordinating foreign government financed projects.
- Familiarity with international donor policies and administrative procedures.
- 4+ years’ experience in administrative support of international health projects.
- Programming experience in maternal and child health.
- Experience working in Tanzania.
- Proven track record coordinating a project team composed of technical experts, program, and finance staff.
- Proficiency in writing and editing letters, reports, and documents.
- Strong decision making and results oriented approach.
- Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform.
- Ability to travel nationally as needed.
- Fluency in verbal, written and interpersonal communication in English and Swahili.
