World Health Organization (WHO) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Recruitment Assistant in Copenhagen, Denmark. The duration for the post is of 2 years.
The mission of WHO is to direct and coordinate international health within the United Nations’ system.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Recruitment Assistant will perform the following functions-
- Develop, manage and maintain rosters; Consultant, GS temporary staff as well as developing punctual support mechanisms within existing resources. This includes issuance of vacancies, screening, administering written tests, maintaining a database with information on availability, functional expertise, and feedback on performance.
- Maintain a vetting system for consultants to be retained on the roster as well as data collection on roster usage, as well as cross referencing consultant roster with past interns, volunteers and retirees.
- Monitor the mailbox for contracting of consultants and ensure timely processing the requests as per established procedures, responding to requests from Units.
- Outreach with technical areas in HQ and other regions to ensure availability of qualified experts in the consultant roster to cover the various technical streams.
- Outreach in the local market and with other UN agencies at the duty station to source qualified administrative support.
- Responsible for all actions relating to organizing the recruitment of GS staff for both fixed-term and temporary positions: screen applications for relevant minimum qualifications, review all documentation submitted by Interested Party, arrange and follow-up each stage of the selection process, including all required documentation from candidates.
- Assist in drafting of interview questions, organize interviews and assist in drafting the final selection report.
- Reviews all requests for recruitment without advertisement, researches and prepares background documentation relevant to such requests, provides first recommendation to supervisor for decision.
- Participate in discussions of new or revised recruitment, internship and consultant procedures and practices, suggesting new or improved internal guidelines.
- Acts as back-up to other team members and provides support to supervisor on ad hoc recruitment related work assignments; assists other HRS staff, as required.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Graduation from secondary school or equivalent.
- Higher education in the area of human resources/ business/administration would be an asset.
- Secretarial and administrative training, including very good PC skills and office software applications.
- Training in the use of computer-based information systems.
- Training in human resources and negotiation skills.
- At least 8 years’ experience in administrative work of which at least 3 years’ work experience is in WHO/UN.
- Experience in managing large databases and regular reporting on usage.
- Experience in human resources related areas.
- Proven experience in dealing with sensitive and confidential information.
- Excellent (advanced) knowledge of English.
- Intermediary (working) knowledge of French, German or Russian.
