The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Logistics Coordinator in Erbil, Iraq. The duration of this post is 12 months.
The Senior Logistics Coordinator will support expatriate and national logistics/procurement staff and functions in all DRC offices in Iraq, with frequent travel between northern Iraq and Baghdad.
DRC is a humanitarian, non-governmental, non-profit organization founded in 1956 that works in more than 30 countries throughout the world, by fulfilling its mandate of providing direct assistance to conflict-affected populations – refugees, internally displaced people (IDPs) and host communities in the conflict areas of the world.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Senior Logistics Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Participate to interview panel for all logistics-related recruitment.
- Support HoFA in revising/updating ToR or JD for all logistics related staff (in order to have uniformity throughout the country).
- Plan and organize regular logistics training with relevant participants (logistics, program, HR and finance) to ensure agreed and uniform systems to be implemented.
- Visit each procurement office to assess full compliance and implementation of OH Chapter 16 (including all updated policies as per INSITE) across all field offices.
- Review ITB (Restricted, National and International) documentation before advertising or inviting suppliers (this will also be in close coordination with the regional logs & procurement support).
- Provide remote support in ITB management (TOC report, technical analysis and contract award).
- Compile monthly reports received from field offices to provide country procurement reports to SMT and/or Head of offices (Key Performance Indicators to be agreed with Senior Management Team first).
- Organize procurement trainings for non-logistics staff and small-scale refresher training (if/when needed) for procurement staff.
- Ensure implementation of CAST/audit recommendations relating to logistics/procurement.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Academic degree in logistics or relevant field (desired). Certification in Humanitarian Logistics Supply Chain (desired if no academic degree).
- Extensive experience (5 to 7 years) in humanitarian logistics management within the field of supply chain management (procurement, tendering, contracting, clearance, transport, warehousing, etc.), fleet management and asset management, distribution support.
- Proven record on the ability and experience of the management of logistics team on a senior level.
- Experience with donor specific procedures related to logistics.
- Management of budgets and ability to prepare timely, complete and accurate reports.
- Ability to conduct training workshops in all areas of logistics for national and international staff (suitable to staff knowledge level).
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with analytic approach.
- Ability to work in participatory manner with staff to assess needs, implement and monitor activities.
- Ability to integrate and work well within multi-ethnic and multi-cultural team.
- Fluency in English, Arabic is an asset.
