World Vision International (WVI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Program Officer in Mbabane, Swaziland. The duration for the post is of less than 1 year.
The Senior Programme Officer (SPO) will be responsible to support and coordinate the Southern Africa El Nino Emergency Response (SAENER) at the Southern Africa Regional Level.

Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Senior Program Officer will perform the following functions-
- Strengthen humanitarian donor intelligence at the Regional level Communicate humanitarian needs identified through technical support for assessments, monitoring data, information and trend analysis, and community feedback to donors, Support Offices and the broader World Vision Partnership.
- Collaborate with Advocacy to influence donor funding strategies when appropriate.
- Support the Regional Resource Development team in donor liaison at the Johannesburg/Pretoria level (Prepositioning and donor engagement).
- Support National Offices as required through the provision of technical advice and support in the development and submission of project proposals with Operations, Advocacy, Finance and relevant Support functions and ensure stakeholders have the opportunity to review proposals and raise issues prior to submission to donors.
- Support National Offices as required to ensure proposals are aligned with the operational plan, sector DADDs and standards.
- Support National Offices as required to ensure proposals are aligned with accountability standards and basic DME requirements.
- Support National Offices as required to maintain donor and SOs communications to facilitate funding acquisition.
- Maintain up-to-date funding matrix for the Response.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University Master’s degree in International Development, International Relations, or related study.
- Proven knowledge leading a multi-cultural team.
- Experience working in a cross-cultural environment.
- 3-5 years of related work experience, including deployments/postings to emergency response.
- Work experience as Humanitarian Emergency Affairs Program Officer in a complex emergency response at least for 1-3 years in a country other than the home country.
- Understand Humanitarian Industry and have proven experience within a complex relief setting.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in successful proposal writing and management of proposal development teams with multi- and bi-lateral donors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English.
- Problem solver.
- Understands grant acquisitions, DME and Humanitarian Accountability.
- Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% of the time.
