Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Senior Research Associate, Maternal Cash Transfer in Yangon, Myanmar.
The Sr. Research Associate will work closely with academic researchers, IPA staff, and the implementing partner to perform a variety of tasks including.
IPA is a research and policy non-profit that discovers and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Senior Research Associate, Maternal Cash Transfer will perform the following functions-
- Recruit, train, and manage survey teams.
- Ensure adherence to data quality protocols, including auditing enumerators, monitoring data collection, and conducting data quality audits.
- Develop and implement plan for responsible financial management of the evaluation budget.
- Serve as a principal point of contact for PI’s on study progress and implementation activities.
- Manage key relationships with partner organizations, including government ministries and local government authorities.
- Develop and pilot quantitative and qualitative survey instruments; manage translation into local languages.
- Work closely with implementing organization to ensure implementation activities adhere to research design.
- Creatively seek solutions to data collection changes.
- Oversee human subject’s approval application for the study and ensure that the study adheres to IRB requirements.
- Write reports detailing research findings and proposed interventions.
- Participate in meetings with key stakeholders and present research findings.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- A bachelor’s degree in economics, social sciences, public policy, or related field is required, Masters preferred.
- Excellent management and organization skills, along with keen attention to details.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage a complex plan with quick-moving parts.
- Knowledge of and experience working with Stata is required.
- Experience managing logistics and budgets for complex/dynamic projects.
- Strong interest in economic and quantitative research.
- Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and team player.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations.
- Fluency in English with strong communication skills.
- Prior experience managing randomized control trial in a developing country setting is a strongly preferred.
- Fluency in Myanmar language is strongly preferred.
- Prior experience coordinating with Myanmar government stakeholders and local authorities strongly preferred.
