International Criminal Court (ICC) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Special Assistant to the Director in The Hague, Netherlands.
ICC’s mission is to help end impunity for the perpetrators of the most serious crimes of concern to the international community.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Special Assistant to the Director will perform the following functions-
- Plan, organize, coordinate and supervise the provision of the technical servicing needs of the Assembly sessions held in The Hague and at United Nations headquarters in New York, as well as of its subsidiary bodies, including inter alia: the annual sessions of the Assembly, the two annual sessions of the Committee on Budget and Finance, the Advisory Committee on Nominations of Judges, The Hague Working Group meetings and, as appropriate, the meetings of the Oversight Committee on permanent premises and of the Bureau. The services to be provided, within the respective budget allocation and timelines, include: security, interpretation, badges, catering, hospitality, supplies, information technology, printers and copiers, etc.
- Substantive servicing of the Assembly, and its Bureau, and other subsidiary bodies, as appropriate, including through note taking and the preparation of summaries of the discussions, revision of documentation and liaising with delegations; plan and prepare the guidelines to organize the lists of speakers at ASP sessions; provide protocol advice and develop protocol guidelines as necessary.
- Supervise the preparation, translation and reproduction of documentation; As per the specific needs of each session, and meeting, plan the various services required including physical facilities and meetings services and supervise their operations; make arrangements for interpretation and translation; prepare and review draft contracts with external providers of services and coordinate, as appropriate, the provision of services from Court units for sessions held in The Hague.
- Carry out measures for ensuring orderliness and security.
- Assist with managing the Trust Fund for the participation of least developed countries and other developing States.
- Maintain files of general information on sessions/meetings and complete various forms concerning meetings; supervise the general archives of the office, in both hardcopy and digital formats.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- University degree in Economics, Business, Public Administration, International Relations or relevant field.
- A minimum of four years of relevant professional experience (two years with an advanced university degree).
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills both in writing and oral.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills.
- Professionalism in applying judgment in the context of assignments given.
- Knowledge of office ERP systems (e.g. SAP).
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with people of different national and cultural.
- Backgrounds with respect for diversity.
- Ability to lead a team during high-stress times.
