The Children’s Investment Fund Foundation (CIFF) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Manager Nutrition, Advocacy, based in London, UK.
Manager Nutrition, Advocacy will drive forward CIFF’s ambitious nutrition advocacy objectives, developing and managing a portfolio of high quality investments.
The CIFF is an independent philanthropic organisation, headquartered in London with offices in Nairobi and New Delhi working with a wide range of partners to transform the lives of poor and vulnerable children in developing countries.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Manager Nutrition, Advocacy will perform the following functions-
- Contribute to the implementation of a global advocacy strategy to meet CIFF’s objectives in nutrition. Lead on sub-strategies, or elements of strategy implementation.
- Work with the India Country Manager to develop Rajasthan’s advocacy strategy and lead on the development of strategic investments to deliver on this strategy.
- Prepare and present high quality analysis and research, as required, to support the nutrition team in determining future strategic priorities and setting operational plans.
- Represent CIFF externally at senior levels, communicating confidently about CIFF’s work and nutrition.
- Identify and lead strategic and creative communications opportunities to amplify the message on nutrition.
- Act as a champion on social media.
- Oversee a nutrition advocacy portfolio and pipeline of over $20m across global and country level work, ensuring strong management across the nutrition advocacy team.
- Monitor and report internally on the performance of the nutrition advocacy portfolio, ensuring a rigorous focus on impact measurement across CIFF’s nutrition advocacy portfolio.
- Apply CIFF due diligence and risk management protocols throughout the development and delivery of proposals and programmes, to ensure CIFF’s interests and reputations are protected.
- Conduct feasibility analysis on investment proposals to ensure they are based on logical and robust assumptions which can withstand scrutiny from the Executive Team and CIFF Board.
- Work with our evidence team to design and embed robust, appropriate monitoring and evaluation processes to all proposals and programmes.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, procedures and programme management approaches within (and beyond) the team.
- Conduct research and evaluation of potential partners, using agreed corporate protocols and techniques, to assess their suitability and credentials for collaborating on CIFF initiatives.
- Keep abreast of developments within the advocacy, nutrition, maternal and child health and international development sectors, establishing appropriate information gathering networks and channels to deepen professional knowledge and skills.
- Manage ongoing partnerships effectively and sensitively to achieve common objectives.
- Apply CIFF account management approaches to partnerships to ensure productive relationships.
- Develop partnerships to support adoption, replication, co-funding or scaling-up of CIFF programmes.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Demonstrable track record of advocacy wins, experience in programme design and implementation for advocacy in the South.
- Demonstrable experience in analysis and due diligence; policy, planning and program delivery, including field experience.
- Excellent partnership management skills.
- Strong working knowledge of – and commitment to – impact measurement and programme monitoring and evaluation.
- Ability to analyse an organisation’s strengths when considering investment proposals.
- Experience working within government systems and/or experience influencing the policies of government agencies, private sector organizations or donor organisations
- Confidence with external representation.
- Strong communication skills, including on social media.
- Proven influencing skills, partnership and relationship management skills.
- Ability to speak and write articulately about programmes for children, and gain credibility with a variety of audiences.
