International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Assistant Manager – Project Coordination in Philippines.
The Assistant Manager will support the implementation of DA-IRRI project, Philippine Rice information System (PRISM), by providing assistance to the development of project plans, implementation of workflows, drafting of reports and monitoring of project activities.
IRRI aims to reduce poverty and hunger, improve the health of rice farmers and consumers, and ensure environmental sustainability of rice farming.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Assistant Manager – Project Coordination will perform the following functions-
- Assist in the development of project plans by collating plans submitted by project partners.
- Monitor project activities as stated in the terms of the Letter of Agreement (LOA).
- Review deadlines of the project and inform the project leader of possible extensions.
- Implement new processes and policy improvements.
- Facilitate and handle processing of Memorandum of Agreement (MOA)/contracts and the transfer of funds to project partners.
- Compose correspondences, memos and letters for review by the Project Leader and NRP Coordinator.
- Manage files/documents relevant to the project.
- Serve as senior staff in the seed component under the National Rice Program.
- Ensure that Rice project development, monitoring and evaluation processes and implemented and complied by project partners.
- Liaise with project partners regarding Research and Development (R&D) projects under the DA-IRRI partnership and other strategic R&D in support to FSSP; project activities related activities to PRISM, Agri-Pinoy Rice Program.
- Attend conferences/workshops, monthly updates/meetings with the National Coordinator and members of the Secretariat of Rice Program on behalf of the Project Leader/Manager as required.
- Provide logistical support and assist with the coordination of training workshops, local and/or international conferences including organizational aspects such as travel, venue, program, speakers/resource persons.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Science, Business Administration, Management, or any related field.
- Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in Project Coordination.
- Experience in project coordination and supervising staff.
- Work experience in a (Project) Management environment.
- Experience establishing partnerships.
- Experience working with clients, client-oriented.
- Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent team working skills.
- Experience working with the DA or any government agency.
