Innovations for Poverty Action (IPA) is currently seeking applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Research Associate in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
The Research Associate will work closely with the country director, research coordinator, principal investigators, government partner, and other field staff to perform a variety tasks including.
IPA is a research and policy non-profit that discovers and promotes effective solutions to global poverty problems.
Key Jobs Responsibilities
The Research Associate will perform the following functions-
- Managing the logistics of a field experiment, including managing budgets, timelines, and relationships with partners.
- Designing, refining, and piloting data collection instruments.
- Programming Computer Assisting Interview (CAI).
- Liaising with principal investigators on study design, implementation, and analysis.
- Coordinating with the government in order to ensure the implementation of the program adheres to the research design.
- Ensuring adherence to data quality protocols, including auditing enumerators, monitoring data collection, and conducting data quality audits.
- Training and managing data collection teams.
- Cleaning data and assisting in preliminary analysis.
- Assisting in the writing of project reports and policy memos.
- Overseeing funding and human subject’s approval applications, and ensuring that all necessary approvals are in place.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Excellent management and organizational skills along with strong quantitative skills.
- Flexible, self-motivating, able to manage multiple tasks efficiently, and a team player.
- Demonstrated ability to manage high-level relationships with partner organizations.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Stata and/or experience with data management and data cleaning.
- Experience with quantitative research, experience with randomized controlled trials a plus.
- Fluency and excellent communication skills in Spanish and English.
- Bachelors or Master’s degree in economics, business management, social sciences, public policy, political science or related fields.
- Experience working in Latin America a plus.
