The World Vision is currently accepting applications from the eligible applicants for the post of Communications Coordinator based in Asia & Pacific – Sri Lanka.
World Vision is a Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation working with children, families and communities to overcome poverty and injustice.
Key Job Responsibilities
The Communications Coordinator will perform the following functions-
- Working closely with the Communication Manager and the Public Engagement Team, develop communications plans for WVL in line with its communications strategy
- Develop strong media relations with and identify and facilitate opportunities to feature WV and its work and enhance its public image through local media channels
- Prepare written material for newsletters, press releases, articles, presentations and other communications products required to enhance WVLs public image
- Creating, and distributing communications material to effectively link WVL with all its stakeholders and enhance its public image
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must have-
- Bachelor degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Development Studies and related field
- At least three years work experience in Communications or Media position or similar capacity
- High level of awareness of global and regional socio-economic, political and environmental issues.
- A flair for writing both news and human interest stories with ability to meet deadlines
- Excellent Communication skills both written and oral (English, Sinhala and/or Tamil)
- Adaptable, flexible, a team player with a knack to influence and build relationships
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office computer programs including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
